More than 1,000 business people, local, foreign investors from 20 countries to participate in Moldova Business Week 2017

Chisinau, 2 October /MOLDPRES/ - More than 1,000 business people, local and foreign investors from 20 countries, Commonwealth of Independent States, European Union, Turkey, China, along with the state’s authorities and development partners, will participate in the most comprehensive economic event of the year, Moldova Business Week 2017. Deputy Prime Minister, Economics and Infrastructure Minister Octavian Calmic announced this event at a news conference today.  

The agenda of Moldova Business Week 2017 includes 30 meetings with business people to tackle two of the most important sectors, investments and exports, as well as to communicate for signing contracts. “Moldova is regarded as a country with potential of investments on the international stage,” Calmic noted. He also said that, on the last day of the Business Week, more contracts are planned to be signed in the textiles and automotive sectors, which will lead to the creation of 2,500-3,000 new jobs.   

A Moldovan-Italian business forum is to be held on 4 October, in which an impressive group of entrepreneurs from Italy will take part. The participants in the meeting will discuss the presence of Italian companies in Moldova, sectors with potential for investments and trade. The Pro-Export forum is scheduled for 5 October. The exporters’ forum will approach topics of Moldovan export in terms of competitiveness, assistance instruments, access to new markets and will end with a gala for awarding prizes to exporters who distinguished themselves in 2016.     

On the last day of the Business Week, 6 October, an international conference of small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) will be organized, with the participation of Prime Minister Pavel Filip and Ukrainian PM Volodymir Groysman. According to information earlier made public, within an official visit to Chisinau by the Ukrainian prime minister, an agreement on the removal of the systems of authorizations for carriers will be signed.   

The most important economic event of this year will also tackle opportunities of regional economic development in the poles of growth from the free economic zones and industrial parks, as well as the internationalization of SMEs at the conference planned for 6 October. Also, a project titled, Online Platform – Eco Products Moldova, will be launched. The project’s goal is to promote ecologically safe products, interaction between producers and consumers for the online supply of traditionally ecological goods, as well as the digital content of the information related to them.  

The Business Week is organized by the Economics and Infrastructure Ministry in partnership with the Investments Attraction and Exports Promotion Organization.
