Moldova, Ukraine to boost parliamentary dialogue to implement Association Agreements with EU

Chisinau, 6 October /MOLDPRES/ - Moldova and Ukraine will boost the dialogue on parliamentary dimension, in order to consistently implement the Association Agreements with EU. Parliament Speaker Andrian Candu and Ukrainian Prime Minister Volodymyr Groysman, on a visit to Moldova, made statements to this effect at a meeting today, the parliament’s communication and public relations has reported.
“We are happy that there is a good cooperation between our countries, especially at governmental level; we will further put emphasis on the parliamentary dimension as well. We want joint messages in the European integration sector, as we have the same results, respectively the same challenges and dangers in this field,” Adrian Candu said. He thanked Ukraine for the support provided to Moldova.
In the context, Andrian Candu said that, in the near future, a conference of speakers would be held in Chisinau. At the event, emphasis will be laid on the European prospect of Moldova, Ukraine and Georgia. This year, a joint declaration by the parliaments of Moldova, Georgia and Ukraine was sent to the European Parliament; the declaration demands opening of the prospect for joining the European Union. Also, the speakers of Moldova, Georgia and Ukraine conveyed a trilateral invitation to Speaker of the United States House of Representatives Paul Ryan to visit our region.
At the meeting, the parliament speaker said that the opening of more joint border checkpoints would be welcome, as this will allow a more efficient control of the two states’ borders, respectively, tightening their security.
The officials also discussed measures to counteract the propaganda regionally, as well as the social and economic realities.
For his part, the prime minister of Ukraine referred to the importance to carry out joint projects, which are to strengthen the bilateral ties.
