Chisinau, 9 October /MOLDPRES/ - The government’s communication and protocol department today issued a press release, thereby making specifications on erroneous information appeared in mass media.

The communiqué reads:

“In connection with the inaccurate information published by the news agency Reuters and taken over by Agerpres, on 6 and, respectively 9 October, 2017, in which Prime Minister Pavel Filip is incorrectly quoted as saying that Moldova will not receive financing on behalf of EU because of failing to fulfill the requirements, we come up with the following specification:

The information published and, respectively, taken over the news agencies Reuters and Agerpres, is erroneous, does not meet the statements by the prime minister. During a programme aired on the public television channel, Prime Minister Pavel Filip only admitted that the macro-financial assistance might not be received by Moldova this year, but will surely be earmarked to our country next year, not making any reference to the effective fulfillment of the conditions. There was no moment when the prime minister said that the requirements set by the European Union for this financial assistance had not been and would not be fulfilled by Moldova. Moreover, Prime Minister Pavel Filip stressed that, from the institutional viewpoint, there are no problems.

At the same time, the PM noted that, when rectifying the budget for this year, the money from the macro-financial assistance had not been stipulated, as the revenues to the state budget were larger than the incomes planned. Thus, so far, the sum of revenues to the state budget stands at more than four billion lei, a larger sum against the revenues accumulated on the same period last year. Also, the prime minister stressed that all investment projects planned would be implemented in continuation.

In connection with the erroneous interpretation of the statement by Prime Minister Pavel Filip, to inform the public correctly, we ask the media institutions which published this piece of news to make the needed rectifications,” the press release issued by the government’s communication and protocol department also reads.
