Chisinau, 11 October /MOLDPRES/ – The old – age and disability pensions set in 2009 – 2011 will be recalculated from 01 November 2017, and not from 01 April 2018 as previously envisaged, according to a governmental decision approved by the government today.

The Ministry of Health, Labour and Social Protection proposed to initiate the valorisation of the pensions established in 2009 – 2011 before the deadline set by the decision of 21 March 2017, in the context of specification of the state insurance budget indicators in 2017, "as a result of the increase of own incomes of the budget".

"Over 58,000 persons will receive pensions by MDL 255 higher or 17 per cent from 01 November, and over 6,000 beneficiaries of disability pensions will have pensions by MDL 274 higher or 28 per cent. The reform of the pension system is fruitful. We do not come with promises that do not have financial coverage," said Prime Minister Pavel Filip.

The pensions established in 2009 – 2011 will benefit 64,878 pensioners, most of them (58,479) receive old – age pensions. The revaluation means an adjustment of income obtained after 1999, when the old formula for calculating pensions was introduced, to the average salary in the year of retirement.

From 01 April 2017, the National Social Insurance House (CNAS) valued the pensions of old – age and disability pension beneficiaries established in 2001 – 2008. The average monthly income earned from 01 January 1999 and included in the calculation of retirement pensions and disability pension, established until 01 April 2017, is recalculated as a result of the increase in the average wage in the years preceding the year of pension the year of the insured income.

According to the March 2017 ruling, the pensions of people established in 2012 – 2014 are to be recalculated from 01 April 2019, and pension beneficiaries set between 2015 and 31 March 2017 from 01 April 2020.
