Chisinau, 11 October /MOLDPRES/ - Prime Minister Pavel Filip, in the beginning of a today cabinet meeting, referred to the unsatisfactory quality of the mobile telephony and Internet services, provided by operators from Moldova, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.

The PM noted that there is not stable and qualitative cooperation with the mobile Internet in Moldova. Filip stressed that both the operators which got a licence from the state and the National Regulatory Agency in Electronic Communications and Information Technology (ANRCETI), which is obliged to supervise and monitor the observance of the licence’s conditions, are in charge of these deficiencies.

“I appealed several times and demanded explanations from ANRCETI. In the answer I received, they said that they are to create working groups due to consider the situation. They forgot that I was in charge of this sector during five years and I know in detail what is happening there,” the prime minister said.

At the same time, the prime minister said that there are all needed instruments to improve the quality of the mobile telephony services and decision-takers in the field are to consolidate efforts, and as priority, are to give up the favouring of certain operators. “I suggest that those from the agency get up from the soft armchairs and fulfill their obligations, so that the citizens of Moldova benefit from these services and be sure that they enjoy qualitative services,” the prime minister underlined.

In this context, Pavel Filip demanded that the Economics and Infrastructure Ministry comes up with viable solutions, so that the coverage with mobile telephony and Internet in Moldova be in line with the licence got by the operators and fits the expectations of the citizens who pay for these services.
