Chisinau, 12 October /MOLDPRES/- Unique benefits provided for payment of dismissed civil servants will be reduced. The law stipulating this was published in the Official Journal of Moldova on 11 October.
The document sets that civil servants, who have been or will be laid off due to liquidation of public authorities, the reduction of staff or liquidation of the post, will receive compensation based on seniority.
Under the law, state employees who have worked between two and seven years will receive an allowance amounting to two monthly average salaries. Those who have a length of service between 7 and 15 years will get twice more. State employees who worked more than 15 years will get six monthly average wages. Allowances will be paid each month and not simultaneously, as provided by law so far.
The law also stipulates that civil servants reached the retirement age may continue to work in the same authority for other five years, with two more than previously provided legislation.
