Farmers in Dubasari to have access to lands on left bank of Dniestre within two months

Chisinau, 7 December /MOLDPRES/- Farmers in Dubasari district will have access to the lands located along the Ribnita-Tiraspol route within two months. Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration Gheorghe Balan made the statement in an interview with MOLDPRES State News Agency.

The official noted that in early February 2018, the people who submitted all necessary documents will have access to those lands.

“This problem has not been solved for years, so the authorities paid compensation since 2014 for the losses incurred by agricultural producers, and for 2014-2016 the total value of these payments was about 29 million lei. These lands represent the main occupation of the labor force in Dubasari. Thus, after solving the issue, we hope people will have jobs, to work these lands and living standards will be restored”, he said.

Balan said that to have access to land, it will not be necessary for people to submit the necessary documents annually, but only when signing the contract. At the same time, if the owner changes, the documents will be renewed.

The land located along the Ribnita-Tiraspol route is about 6,400 ha, which is owned by thousands of people and dozens of economic agents who have bought or rented these lands.
