Japan to facilitate procedure of getting visas by Moldovan citizens

Chisinau, 8 December /MOLDPRES/ - Deputy Prime Minister, Foreign Affairs and European Integration Minister Andrei Galbur today had a meeting Japan’s State Minister for Foreign Affairs Kazuyuki Nakane, on the sidelines of the meeting of the OSCE Ministerial Council in Vienna, the Foreign Affairs and European Integration Ministry’s public diplomacy, strategic communication and media interaction service has reported.  

At the meeting, the officials discussed important subjects of the Moldovan-Japanese bilateral political agenda, as well as on boosting cooperation in more sectors of common interest. In particular, Foreign Affairs Minister Andrei Galbur expressed thanks for the valuable contribution of Japan’s government to modernize diverse sectors from Moldova through assistance programmes, noting also the importance of Japanese investments in Moldova.    

For his part, Kazuyuki Nakane reiterated his country’s openness for strengthening the bilateral political ties, support and encouraging of Moldova’s reforms’ agenda. At the same time, the sides stressed that the mutual opening of embassies had confirmed bilateral intentions to edify a lasting and advantageous relationship.

The official of Japan informed about Japanese authorities’ intention to facilitate the procedure of getting visas by Moldova’s citizens, especially business people.

The sides expressed interest in fostering the Moldovan-Japanese cooperation within international and regional organizations, appreciating, in particular, the format GUAM (Organization for Democracy and Economic Development) + Japan. In the context, the officials reiterated both diplomacies’ willingness to  successfully collaborate in 2018, - a period when Moldova will hold the rotating presidency of GUAM.
