Over 1,600 children infect with viroses recently in Moldovan capital

Chisinau, 27 December /MOLDPRES/ – More than 1,600 children in Chisinau, out of which nearly 70 per cent of pre-school children, have reached a doctor with viroses during the recent week, according to data of Chisinau Public Healthcare Centre.

According to the cited source, 2,251 cases of respiratory infections were recorded last week in the capital. The most affected by virosis are children under six years of age (1,181 cases), of whom over 300 were admitted to hospital for medical care. There were not detected cases of influenza during this period.

According to Chisinau City Public Healthcare Centre’s data, the number of cases of virosis in the recent week decreased by 11.0 per cent.

Doctors warn population to consume as many fruits and vegetables as possible, avoid crowded places and getting first symptoms of the disease to seek medical assistance.
