Moldovan economy minister meets with head of Gagauzia

Chisinau, 10 February /MOLDPRES/ – Minister of Economy and Infrastructure, Chiril Gaburici, had a meeting today with Bashkan of Gagauzia, Irina Vlah, in Comrat city.

According to the Ministry of Economy and Infrastructure’s information and media communication service, topics discussed focused upon work of free economic zones (ZEL) in Gagauzia, rehabilitation of road infrastructure in the region and work of the Moldovan – Turkish intergovernmental commission for economic cooperation.

During the talks, Minister of Economy and Infrastructure outlined upon the need to strengthen efforts for development of national economy. "We need to develop joint projects in areas such as industry, transport and infrastructure, create business conditions and become attractive to foreign investors. That is the only way to ensure a higher standard of living for population," said Gaburici.

Similarly, Minister of Economy and Infrastructure said that one of institution’s priorities he has been leading was infrastructure development. “The citizens of Moldova should feel comfortable at home, have good roads, access to water networks and sewage systems," said Chiril Gaburici.

Bashkan of Gagauzia thanked the Minister of Economy and Infrastructure for the visit and said it was "an important step in maintaining a constructive dialogue and strengthening collaboration between local and central authorities."

After inauguration of the new Minister of Economy and Infrastructure, Chiril Gaburici, it was the first official visit to Gagauzia, with participation of Irina Vlah.
