Moldovan economy minister discusses with manager of foreign firm on attracting investments into free economic zone

Chisinau, 11 February /MOLDPRES/ – Minister of Economy and Infrastructure, Chiril Gaburici, had a meeting on 10 February with General Director of Danube Logistics, Thomas Moser, during a documentary visit to free international port (PIL) Giurgiulesti. The interlocutors discussed facilities granted to residents of free economic zone (ZEL) Giurgiulesti and attracting investments.

Also, one of examined subjects was the services provided by PIL Giurgiulesti, as well as port’s infrastructure development and access ways, the Ministry of Economy and Infrastructure’s information and media communication service has reported.

During the visit, Minister of Economy and Infrastructure inspected sectors on Chisinau – Giurgiulesti highway, which rehabilitation is to start in 2018.

The minister referred upon importance of developing road, rail and access infrastructure. "We must create favourable conditions for business development both for economic agents operating in ZEL and those which are going to come to invest here. It is significant to develop infrastructure and become competitive into domain," said Gaburici.

At his turn, Thomas Moser mentioned that services provided by PIL Giurgiulesti included storage of containers and products, goods’ loading and unloading, their transhipment, agency of registering ships. "There are also provided rental services for residents of ZEL. Currently, there are about 50 residents, which carry out their economic activity in different spheres in ZEL Giurgiulesti," said Moser.

PIL Giurgiulesti was created in 2005.
