Trucks without cargo can cross border through Costesti customs post

Chisinau, 21 February /MOLDPRES/- Trucks without cargo, except for tanks and trailers, can cross the border through the Costesti customs post. The decision was taken to streamline the circulation of freight cars at the Moldovan-Romanian border.

According to the Customs Service, through this post it became possible to transport goods and means of transport of holders of the status of Authorized Economic Agent.

The crossing of this customs post by cargo trucks for export was stopped in May 2010, as the infrastructure was damaged and there was no technical control equipment.

Subsequently, with the support of the US Government, several mobile scanning devices have been reassigned and anti-fraud tools such as: risk analysis, operative information or canine control have been diversified.

Initially, the mobile scanning devices were applied in November last year to the Cahul customs office.

In this context, the Customs Service urges economic operators and freight carriers to opt for these two customs posts, so as to avoid overloading.
