Chisinau, 23 February /MOLDPRES/ – The Moldovan delegation to the Joint Control Commission (CUC) is concerned about the reasons for blocking JCC’s decisions from the Transnistrian component regarding reopening of traffic on bridge between villages Gura Bacului and Bacioc. The statement was made after the meeting in Bender on 22 February 2018, where it was discussed the subject.

During the discussions, delegations exchanged views and presented new proposals aimed at contributing to adoption of a joint decision to identify solutions to the issue. "Regretfully, Transnistrian delegation repeatedly refused to accept Russia’s proposal to CUC to establish that parties would refrain from unilateral actions to modify the infrastructure and numerical strength of the force structures in area adjacent to Gura Bacului – Bacioc", states a communiqué from the Moldovan delegation to CUC.

Co – chairman of CUC, Oleg Beleakov, confirmed at meeting that authorities of the region decided to embezzle land from some inhabitants of Bacioc village to so – called, customs committee of TMR, in order to construct infrastructure of a new alleged – international customs terminal.

According to the practice, such terminals include: customs and border control tracks, staff counters, administrative building with barrier infrastructure, traffic signs, road markings, all covered with canopied. Also, the Transnistrian side plans to construct a customs district for servicing and concentrating heavy transport, subject to the customs clearance of imported/exported/transit goods, involving additional staff of so – called, border guards – migrant – migration service, at border from Bacioc.

In this context, the Delegation of Moldova warned CUC members about inadmissibility of these destabilizing actions in Tiraspol. "We note that this is done by the Transnistrians unilaterally, without coordination with CUC. Thus, ignoring decision of 31 January 2018, taken at the joint meeting of experts in the field of transport and road infrastructure, which decided that only vehicles with capacity of up to 10 tons would be able to cross road bridge over the Dniester river, of localities Gura Bacului and Bacioc," states communiqué of Moldovan delegation to CUC.

The concerns and arguments raised by Moldovan delegation were supported by Russian co – chairman, Ilia Uvarov, which repeatedly called for a friendly solution to reopening of traffic on bridge near the Dniester river. It was decided to transfer the meeting for 01 March 2018, for these reasons.
