Cooperation of Moldova, United Nations Organisations marks twenty six years

Chisinau, 02 March /MOLDPRES/ – The UNO General Assembly adopted Resolution by which the Republic of Moldova became a member of the United Nations on 02 March 1992, the MAEIE’s information and media communication service has reported.

By means of membership exercising, Moldova has managed to assert itself as a full – fledged actor in achieving objectives of organization in different fields, such as sustainable development, preservation of international peace and security, respect for human rights etc.

Moldova has made its contribution through its experts and continues to hold membership in a number of important United Nations’ elected organs, such as Committee on Population and Development, Committee on Social Development, Committee Against Torture, UN Economic and Social Council.

Currently, over 20 specialised agencies, funds and programmes have offices in Moldovan capital, which assist and continue to support national authorities in promoting reforms in different sectors of the national economy.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Integration Europe (MAEIE) has played an important role in promoting national interests and priorities, along with Moldova’s accredited missions toorganisation and its offices in New York, Geneva and Vienna, contributing to continuously advancing the dialogue with the universal forum during 26 years of work in UNO.
