National agency for energy regulation sets higher ceiling prices for petrol, diesel fuel in Moldova

Chisinau, 06 March /MOLDPRES/ – The National Regulatory Agency for Energy (ANRE) set today trading price for most sold petrol Premium – 95 at MDL 17,80 per litre and diesel at MDL 15,85 for 07 – 20 March.

The reference prices for upcoming fortnight are MDL 0,13 per litre of petrol higher than previously and diesel increased by MDL 0,27. The increase has occurred, after most significant recent reduction of fuel prices, by MDL 0,95 a litre for petrol and MDL 0,90 for diesel.

The new petrol and diesel prices will come into effect at midnight and be in effect on 07 – 20 March. The operators will not have right to retail fuel at prices higher than those ones set by ANRE.

The Brent oil barrel rose to $66.08 at midday today after reached on 01 March lowest level in recent weeks of $63.39. An oil price correction occurred earlier this week as a result of info on reduction of oil stocks at major US deposit Cushing in Oklahoma.

The experts appreciate Brent crude oil price increase as highest per cent within recent three weeks. The inventories of Cushing dropped last week by 600 thousand barrels and continued to fall for eleventh week consecutively, reaching lowest level since 2014. "The downward trend in global reserves shows that market is basically experiencing an offer deficit," said analyst of Raymond James&Associates, Pavel Molcianov, quoted by Russian press.

The global demand for oil will increase within next five years, according to forecasts of International Energy Agency (IEA).
