Moldovan private persons may submit income declarations through mobile phones

Chisinau, 13 March /MOLDPRES/ - Private persons who do not practice entrepreneurial activity will be able to submit to the Fiscal Service the declaration on the income got on 2017 through mobile devices, by using the concerned application. The head of the methodology of taxes general department at the Fiscal Service, Olga Golban, made statements to this effect at a news conference today.  

According to the Fiscal Service, 54,000 citizens already have electronic signatures allowing them to present declarations in electronic form, including through electronic devices. Another novelty launched in 2018 is the payment through the m-pay service.  

“Thus, citizens will be able to submit declarations or pay the difference without going to the fiscal office. They may do this also at home, easily and comfortably,” a head of department at the Fiscal Service, Alexandru Ghitman, said. He explained practically how tax payers can benefit from the new possibilities provided by the fiscal body.   

Legal entities, as well as private people who practice entrepreneurial activity are obliged to submit the income declaration till 25 March. “Given that 25 March is a day off, the deadline for presenting the declaration and paying the tax is extended till 26 March. For the same reasons, in the case of citizens, the deadline will be extended till 30 April and 2 May,” Olga Golban said.    

Private persons are obliged to submit income declarations, if they get salary incomes from two or more jobs. The incomes amounting to 31,140 lei, got in 2017, are taxed at a quota of 7 per cent and a sum exceeding this figure is taxed at the level of 18 per cent, Olga Golban specified. According to Golban, the personal exemption is of 10,140 lei. The persons who participated in the Chernobyl accident relief works, the wives and parents of those who died or are missed in battles for the defence of Moldova’s territorial integrity and independence, as well as in combat actions in Afghanistan, as well as other persons benefit from a higher exemption of 15,840 lei.      

Data by the Fiscal Service shows that, till 12 March, private persons submitted over 3,600 declarations on the income got in 2017 and legal entities – 2,730 declarations. The Fiscal Service in March-April will work with an extended schedule, to give possibility to submit income declarations and pay taxes on the term established.
