Agreements of collaboration signed on development of youth centres in more districts of Moldova

Chisinau, 13 March /MOLDPRES/ – The Ministry of Education, Culture and Research has today signed bilateral cooperation agreements with 11 local public administration authorities of Level II on development of Youth Centres. There were signed similar agreements with 9 local public authorities on 14 November 2017.  

The documents were signed by the Minister of Education, Culture and Research, Monica Babuc, and heads of districts: Cahul, Criuleni, Falesti, Floresti, Glodeni, Leova, Nisporeni, Ocnita, Rascani, Rezina and Straseni.

In her speech, Minister Monica Babuc mentioned importance of strengthening partnerships between central and local public authorities so that young persons have opportunity to manifest themselves personally and professionally at home, stressing that opening of youth centres in those districts has offered new perspectives to expand non – formal education services and develop education, counseling, promoting healthy lifestyles among young citizens.

According to official, signing of agreements was carried out in context of implementation of Youth Development Programme for 2017 – 2021, which purpose has been strengthening institutional capacities allowing development and territorial expansion of youth services so as to be enhanced number of young beneficiaries.

Through the programme, the Ministry of Education, Culture and Research will provide local public authorities of second level with three dimensions: professional development of human resources within the youth centres (managers and specialists in youth work), support for development of technical – material base (IT equipment and furniture) and financial support for development of district/municipal grant programmes for youth initiatives/projects of youth organisations and youth initiative groups.

In the context, Ion Leuca, head of Glodeni district, said that projects launched by local ministry in the territory have had a significant impact on youth in villages, so that local public authorities would support partnership and make efforts for youth centres to be full of life.

It was purchased equipment for Youth Centres, IT furniture and facilities worth MDL 5 million from budget ministry and planned MDL 8 million for development of youth services for 2017 – 2020 on development of youth services.
