Chisinau, 15 March /MOLDPRES/- The program on road fund allocation for national public roads for 2018 and the program on regular repair of national and local public roads will be published in the Official Journal of Moldova on 16 March.

The documents are meant to improve the national road infrastructure.

Thus, 972.4 million lei is provided for the national public roads. Most of this amount – 822.8 million lei will be earmarked for road maintenance, current repair and necessary works to ensure road traffic safety.

Also, 149.5 million lei will be allocated for the reconstruction of national public roads and engineering constructions, co-financing of the construction project of the bypass of Ungheni and acquisition of the electronic vignette issuing, management, monitoring and control system.

For the program on periodic repair of local public roads and streets there are planned 1.6 billion lei. The activities will improve the quality of road infrastructure in over 1,200 localities in the country, which will facilitate trade, help increase economic competitiveness and labor mobility in rural areas.

The financing of the renovation works of the national public roads will be made from the road fund, and the regular repair of the national, local roads and streets – from the state budget means.
