Registration for Diaspora-related programme 2018 starts in Moldova

Chisinau, 16 March /MOLDPRES/ - Children from the Diaspora and Moldova may register, starting from 15 March this year, to participate in the DOR (Diaspora Origins Returns) Programme 2018. The fourth issue of the programme will take place on 20-28 August this year, under the patronage of Moldova’s government. The project is aimed at strengthening the emotional, cultural and identity-related relations of young people with their origin country.  

According to the government’s communication and protocol department, to participate in the DOR Programme 2018, children aged between 12 and 17 years should fill in online a participation form on the webpage www.dor.md on 15 March – 15 May, this year. Just as in 2017, children from Moldova, selected as a result of a creation contest will also participate in the DOR Programme 2018 and persons who have not participated in this programme so far will have priority.  

The files submitted will be assessed by a joint commission, made up representatives of the State Chancellery, Education, Culture and Research Ministry and Diaspora Relations Bureau. The results will be announced on 25 May. The participation in the DOR Programme is free of charge; all expenses are covered from the state budget, excepting those for travel to and from Moldova.   
This year as well, the participants in the DOR summer camp will enjoy artistic, sports, linguistic activities, activities of knowledge of the history and culture; they will pay official and cultural visits – all held interactively. One hundred children and young people will be able to register in the 2018 issue of the programme.  

Over 500 children from 15 countries, including Moldova, have taken part in the DOR Programme so far.
