Chisinau, 18 March /MOLDPRES/ - Eight Moldovan settlements from five districts today remained partially disconnected from power supply because of the bad weather.

Contacted by MOLDPRES, the head of the Foreign Relations and Communication Department at the Union Fenosa Power Distribution Network , Vasile Gribincea, said that the settlements hit were mainly from central Moldova.

‘’It is about settlements from the districts of Anenii Noi, Stefan Voda, Vulcanesti and Taraclia. The disconnections were announced today morning at about 5:00. Presently, mobile teams are in the territory to remedy the defects. Some consumers have been already reconnected to power supply,’’ Gribincea said.

Vasile Gribincea noted that people are urged to avoid electricity conductors accidentally fallen on earth or which suspectly hang over pillars and trees. ‘’Citizens are urged to mark the place of conductors’ breaks and provide their guard till electricians’ intervention, in order to thus restrict the access of people and domestic animals to the zone of electrocution risk. Also, do not intervene in electricity installations, as these actions endanger your life. Urgently inform the electric energy provider at the phone number 022-43-11-11 about any incident,’’ Gribincea added.

The State Hydrometeorological Service announced Yellow Code of sharp weather change, valid for 17-22 March. Meteorologists forecast snowfall, ice, wind and waves of cold.
