Meteorologists announce yellow code of local floods

Chisinau, 28 March /MOLDPRES/- The State Hydrometeorological Service announced Yellow Code of local floods until 4 April.

The warning is caused by sudden weather warming and snow melting. “Hydrologists point out the 0.5-1 meter increase in water level in small rivers in the country and the intensive leakage formation on slopes at risk of local floods,” a press release by the SHS reads.

In this context, meteorologists and rescuers warn economic agents subordinated to reservoirs to check dams and to reinforce them if needed.

At the same time, SHS announces that in connection with drainage of large spring waters in the Danube, on Giurgiulesti port segment will continue rising water level, causing floods and sub-floods in low places.
