Prices for over 1,400 drugs reduced

Chisinau, 12 April /MOLDPRES/- The order on registration and review of producer prices for medicines, which sees producer price drop by 9.3 per cent to 1,440 pharmaceuticals, will be published in the Official Journal of Moldova on 13 April.

According to data by the Medicines and Medical Devices Agency of Moldova, the decision to review prices was taken as a result of a 3-per cent-appreciation of the national currency against the euro and the dollar.

Drugs that are cheaper include – antibiotics, nervous system drugs, dermatological preparations, vitamins, multivitamins, preparations with action on the cardiovascular system, anti-inflammatory and anti-rheumatic, anti-diabetic, antitussive and expectorant, immunomodulatory, antiasthmatic and analgesic. Prices will drop to 215 preparations included in the list of social medicines.

At present, the national medicines catalog includes 4,190 preparations.
