PMs of Moldova, Belarus describe ties between two states as very good

Chisinau, 19 April /MOLDPRES/ - Prime Minister Pavel Filip and President of Belarus Aleksandr Lukashenko have described the relations between the two states as very good. The officials noted that the agreements signed today, including the ones between regions, would contribute to further developing the ties, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.  

”The relations between our countries are cordial, we cooperate in a lot of sectors and I have repeatedly said it: this fact, to a great extent, is due personally to You and Your attitude,” Pavel Filip said. The PM thanked President Lukashenko for the support Belarus was providing to Moldova, including for the agricultural technology and special vehicles donated.   

In particular, the prime minister expressed gratitude to Belarus for the fact that, in the situation of embargo imposed by Russia, Belarus had become an important sales market for Moldovan goods, especially for wines.

President Aleksandr Lukashenko said the discussions held today had been constructive, substantive, pragmatic, as well as full of emotion. “You are not only reliable partners, you are our friends. I love Moldova not less your people. I spent my youth here and even if these are emotions, they play a certain role in politics. You can rely on us, we will fulfill all agreements reached,” Aleksandr Lukashenko said.  

The officials noted that, at the today’s meeting, the sides discussed the Moldovan-Belarusian projects underway, as well as the future ones. The projects on assembling trolley busses and cooperation in the agricultural sector, including supply of Moldovan farmers with agricultural technology were described as the most successful.  

The prime minister said he wanted Belarusian companies to get involved in the process of restoration of roads in Moldova, stressing that Belarusian entrepreneurs had already submitted applications on participating in tenders organized to this end. Aleksandr Lukashenko expressed Belarusian enterprises’ willingness to take part in the reconstruction of roads in Moldova and of applying the technology of rehabilitation with concrete.  

The collaboration is advancing in the social and cultural sector as well. “The most important project we want to carry out deals with the training of highly-skilled specialists for Moldova,” President Lukashenko added.

In the end of his speech, the Belarusian head of state invited Prime Minister Pavel Filip to visit Belarus.
