Latin-script schools from left bank of Dniester to receive 100,000 lei on behalf of state each

Chisinau, 25 April /MOLDPRES/ - Eight Latin-script schools from the left bank of Dniester will receive a one-off material assistance worth 100,000 lei each. This fact is provided for in the programme of activities for Moldova’s reintegration for 2018, approved by the cabinet, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported. 

Following a contest of projects, presented by local and central public authorities, 49 proposals were accepted for financing. The proposals see repair and endowment of education and medical institutions, maintenance of buildings and aqueducts, settlement’s illumination.   

”We show care for those who live in the Transnistrian region. In fact, we trouble our heads not about the Tiraspol leaders, but about the people who live in this region, as they are our citizens,” the prime minister said.  

Thus, 23 settlements will benefit from 5.7 million lei for the restoration and extension of street illumination systems. More than six million lei will be directed for the repair of more schools, kindergartens, community centres and aqueducts. At the same time, over two million lei will be used for the arrangement of trade markets and entertainment spaces in villages from the Security Zone.  

These actions are to improve the living conditions of residents from the Security Zone and strengthen the trust between the population on the two banks of Dniester.  

Fifteen million lei will be earmarked for the development of education institutions and carrying out infrastructure projects in the Transnistrian region this year in all.
