Moldovan electoral body starts printing electoral lists for local elections

Chisinau, 27 April /MOLDPRES/- The Central Election Commission (CEC) has begun printing basic electoral lists for the 20 May local elections. In all, about 750,000 voters were included in the electoral rolls.
According to the CEC, the basic electoral rolls were drawn up under the State Electoral Register and include all citizens eligible to vote residing in the territory of a polling station.
The voter can be included only in one electoral list and at one polling station.
After printing, the commission will submit the electoral lists to the local public authorities, which will then be forwarded to the polling stations.
At the same time, on 30 April-19 May, voters in the localities where new local elections take place can check the correctness of the electoral lists both in polling stations and online on the commission’s website - www.cec.md.
On 20 May, new mayors will be elected in seven localities: Chisinau municipality, Balti municipality, Leuseni and Nemteni (Hancesti district), Volovita (Soroca), Jora de Mijloc (Orhei) and Parlita village (Ungheni district).
