Great international master gets 21st title of Moldova's national champion

Chisinau, 30 May /MOLDPRES/ – The world largest international game master, Russian and universal versions, Ion Dosca obtained on 29 May, at the Republican Chess and Ladies Games Club, the 21st national champion title, Russian version.

He has easily won first places in the classic, fast and flash game tournaments, for the first time in three versions.

"Due to duration of the competition – 08 days - three strong players, Denis Dudco, Victor Lungu and Alexandru Caraulinai, all masters of sport, could not participate. The fact, however, is that it does not spoil the value of the titles conquered by the great international master Ion Dosca. He is an example of consecration, dedication to this kind of popular sport," told the agency today secretary general of national federation, Greta Sturza.

The championship was also attended by best Moldovan player, Elena Scovitina, multiple European and world champion. She competed in classic and fast game versions, ranking second. The second place held Marcel Ursu, aged 17. On the third place, Alexei Dolgopolov, which took part in all three championship events.

Previously, national championships were held only in classic version.

Ion Dosca obtained the right to represent Moldova at the European Championship in summer 2018, which will take place in Albena (Bulgaria). He is considered the most gallant Moldavian player, holding the Soviet Union Cup (1980 and 1990), the Soviet Union champion (1991), the Russian variant, the World Championship winner, universal version, the world champion (1999) United States of America, pool-checkers (2000). With 21 national titles, he is the first in Moldova on it.
