Quality of petrol, diesel to be tested according to European standards

Chisinau, 6 June /MOLDPRES/- Quality parameters of petrol and diesel both for importing and marketing these products at filling stations will be measured according to European requirements. In this respect, the government has approved amendments to the law on oil products, which provide for setting a fuel quality monitoring system in Moldova in line with European directives, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.
The fuel quality monitoring will be carried out by the accredited bodies, which will submit data to the Ministry of Economy and Infrastructure and the Agency for Consumer Protection and Market Surveillance. The inspection steps will include sampling of petrol and diesel under customs territory and at filling stations, tests based on European standards, issuing inspection report.
Thus, the procedures for determining the quality of petrol and diesel will be adjusted to European standards, and the annual report on the quality of oil products sold in Moldova will be presented to consumers.
The procedure for certification of oil products based on SM and GOST standards is currently applied in Moldova, different from those set in the EU.
