Moldovan plastic artist opens personal exhibition, at 85 anniversary

Chisinau, 07 June /MOLDPRES/ – A personal exhibition of painting and graphics of artist Olga Orlova, 85 years of age anniversary, was opened today at Exhibition Centre Constantin Brancusi in Chisinau municipality.
The exhibition includes 67 works: portraits, landscapes, static natures – made by author over years.
Interviewed by agency, Olga Orlova said she always liked to paint peasant houses and peasant clothes and that she is in love with beauty of rustic style.
At his turn, Art critic Constantin Spanu said that Olga Orlova is a remarkable portraitist, in which works human faces of 1960s – 70s are rendered by a monumental approach, aesthetic beauty and a profound psychological load of model.
In his speech, head of the Union of Plastic Artists of Moldova, Dumitru Bolboceanu, said that protagonist of event is part of golden generation of artists from 60s – 70s. "Olga Orlova carried fame of Moldova far away from its borders. She is a well – known painter throughout ex – Soviet area. She has participated in numerous international exhibitions and awarded more awards. She can be a model of plastic artist, teacher and great person," said Dumitru Bolboceanu.
Olga Orlova was born on 19 August 1932 in Bender city. In 1951, she graduated Painting School "I. Repin" in Chisinau. The first exhibition took place in 1953 in Chisinau. In 1960 she became a member of the Union of Plastic Artists in Moldova. Over years, she has participated in over 100 group exhibitions in Moldova and abroad, has had several personal exhibitions. Her works are kept in public and private collections in Moldova, Russia, France, Israel, Poland and USA.
The exhibition is open until 24 June.
