Chisinau, 15 June /MOLDPRES/ – Two volumes of prose entitled "Catre voi, prin lumina intunericului" (Towards you, throughout the light of darkness) by writer Mihail Gheorghe Cibotaru were launched 14 June evening at bookshop din Centru in Chisinau municipality.

The two volumes include new texts written by author over recent ten years after he lost sight.

At the event, first President of Moldova, Mircea Snegur, mentioned that Mihail Gheorghe Cibotaru was and remains a realistic writer. "No aspect of our everyday life is left out of his work. His novel "Batman" describes the events of 07 April 2009, when more youngsters were tortured in police stations. I admire his character in every condition," said Mircea Snegur.

The literary critic, Ion Ciocanu, at his turn, said that writing two novels by author, which lost sight, is an act of heroism. "Mihail Gheorghe Cibotaru writes pure, painful truth as it is. He does not only describe reality but also lives in his soul," said Ion Ciocanu.

According to writer Emilian Galaicu – Paun, two books have a well-defined structure. "The first volume contains memories, and the second volume is fiction. Being editor of the book, I found myself at a certain moment with a braid of Moldavian rug, with very many coloured yarns. Mihail Gheorghe Cibotaru also carried his characters, friends and destiny through life," said Emilian Galaicu – Paun.

Writer Iurie Colesnic stated that Mihail Gheorghe Cibotaru is the author that puts the issue and leaves the reader to meditate on it. "He is the soldier of the 1960s. On the shoulders of this generation of sacrifice, there were the writers of the '90s. Due to respective generation, we have a historical past worthy of our people," said Iurie Colesnic.

The prose writer and publicist Mihail Gheorghe Cibotaru was born on 21 June 1934, in Varvareuca village, Soroca county, currently Floresti district. After graduating from secondary school in Floresti (1954), he attended courses of the Faculty of History and Philology of the State University in Chisinau (1959).
