Moldovan parliament regrets passing away of former parliament speaker

Chisinau, 23 June /MOLDPRES/ - Moldova’s parliament regrets the passing away of a former parliament speaker, Dumitru Motpan.
Parliament Speaker Andrian Candu, the lawmakers and the parliament’s secretariat conveyed sincere condolences to the family, relatives and all those who knew and appreciated the departed.
Dumitru Motpan held the offices of deputy parliament speaker during 1994-1997 and parliament speaker in 1997-1998. He was MP in the first parliament and one of the signatories to the Declaration of Independence and was awarded the Order of the Republic.
Dumitru Motpan was born in the Seliste village, central Nisporeni district, on 3 May 1940.
