Chisinau, 28 June /MOLDPRES/ - The agricultural producers from the Autonomous Territorial Unit of Gagauzia, due to benefit from subsidies to do business, today were nominated at a meeting of a special commission from Comrat. Thus, five farming companies from the autonomy will receive more than 420,000 lei.

The commission members considered more applications from agricultural enterprises which asked the state for assistance. As a result, four farms have been selected, which invested in multiannual plantations, as well as a firm which purchased agricultural technology.

„We are happy to find out that investments in agriculture are made in the Gagauz autonomy, especially in such promising sectors as multiannual plantations. It would be good if other farms participate in the process of getting subsidies,” the first deputy governor of  the Autonomous Territorial Unit of Gagauzia (UTA Gagauzia), Vadim Ceban, has said, quoted by the website www.gagauzinfo.md.

According to the acts submitted, the enterprises due to benefit from subsidies have already invested over five million lei in business, with two of them led by young specialists.

The subsidization of farmers from UTA Gagauzia is carried out under a regional decision, approved in 2017, as well as of a regulation on the way of distribution, approved by the Comrat executive committee in last February. The fund of subsidies in the autonomy’s agriculture amounts to 6.5 million lei, which accounts for three per cent of the Gagauz autonomy’s own incomes.
