Chisinau, 10 July /MOLDPRES/ – Prime Minister Pavel Filip convened today a working meeting with the authorities responsible for examining issues related to integrated border management regarding the extension of common points at the eastern border of Moldova, as well as some aspects regarding import of economic agents from the Transnistrian region, the government's communication and protocol department has reported.

In the context of the efforts of Government to ensure an integrated and efficient management of the border of authorities of Moldova and Ukraine, the Premier called for urgent measures to extend common crossing points along the eastern border, including human resources training and checking of administrative conditions.

Regarding the start of joint control at the Moldovan-Ukrainian border crossing points located on the Transnistrian segment, both the Border Police (PF) and Customs Service (SV) are to initiate with the Ukrainian side the final procedures for practical implementation of activity. The PM has said that, together with the Ukrainian authorities, there will be made efforts to speed up signing of protocols on it.

Another issue discussed at the meeting was the need to extend the period of application of exemption from customs duties to economic agents from the eastern districts of Moldova which carry out import – export operations at border crossing point Pervomaisk-Cuciurgan and are not registered with Public Services Agency (ASP). Given that this period expires on 18 July 2018, the proposal was accepted to extend this deadline by 01 January 2019.
