Extension of Moldovan-Romanian business partnerships in focus of Moldova's government

Chisinau, 17 July /MOLDPRES/ - Prime Minister Pavel Filip and a delegation of the National Union of Romanian Employers, on visit to Chisinau, analyzed possibilities of turning to good account the economic potential of companies from Moldova and Romania, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.
The members of the Romanian delegation proposed to initiate a project on internationalization of enterprises from Moldova, along with Romanian ones, in order to jointly launch on bigger sales markets, such as the ones of China or Japan. This will allow economic agents from the two countries participating in economic missions, international fairs and business meetings.
Also, the sides exchanged opinions on carrying out cross-border projects for the Moldovan-Romanian business environment, among which the creation of a virtual platforms for training specialists in the IT sector.
The prime minister and the Romanian delegation expressed interest also in turning to good account the tourist potential from both countries and backed the idea of working out joint tourist packets.
The prime minister noted that the government was open for applying new programmes, which would facilitate the development of the business environment. Filip specified that the proposals set forth by representatives of the National Union of Romanian Employers would be analyzed within the Economic Council under the Prime Minister.
In another context, the PM referred to cabinet’s initiatives for launching joint checkpoints at the Moldovan-Romanian border, removing roaming tariffs between the two states, as well as construction of a bridge across the Prut river.
Presently, 1,678 enterprises with Romanian capital work in Moldova, with Romania ranking third in terms of investments made in the national economy.
