Our mission consists in capitalising prerequisites for development of Moldovan – Macedonian partnership, says Premier

Chisinau, 18 July /MOLDPRES/ – Prime Minister Pavel Filip met with Macedonian President Gjorge Ivanov, paying an official visit to Moldova today. The interlocutors mentioned the good cooperation between Moldova and Macedonia, based on mutual trust and respect, the government's communication and protocol department has reported.

"Our mission is to capitalise on existing premises for further development of Moldovan – Macedonian partnership," said Pavel Filip.

The officials revealed the positive impact of visa reciprocal abolition, which has contributed to deepening bilateral relations. Pavel Filip and Gjorge Ivanov confirmed the opening for boosting commercial and economic cooperation, including by capitalising on Central European Free Trade Agreement (CEFTA).

The Head of Executive informed the Macedonian official about Moldova's relations with foreign partners and implemented reforms by Government, especially in justice, business environment and efforts to combat corruption. Pavel Filip mentioned the interest of Moldova in taking over the experience of Macedonia in the process of European integration, especially in the context of launching EU Strategy for Western Balkans.

President Gjorge Ivanov confirmed his willingness to share his country's experience in completing EU accession road, noting that our states have many similarities: small, multiethnic and multicultural countries that have to cope with existing challenges.

In other range of ideas, Pavel Filip congratulated President Gjorge Ivanov for recent invitation to join Macedonia at NATO block, while also expressing gratitude for the vote in favour of Resolution on withdrawal of Russian troops from the territory of the Republic of Moldova, at the 72nd session of UNO General Assembly.
