Chisinau, 18 July /MOLDPRES/ - Prime Minister Pavel Filip and representatives of the Education, Culture and Research Ministry, at a today working meeting,  discussed a new vision for the development of the education system, at the stage of general education, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.

”I strongly believe that what we have in Moldova now is also the result of an educational degradation. The development of a state starts from education. We can bring the change only in this way,” the PM said.

Today, decision-makers from the Education Ministry unveiled radiography of the problems in the sector, as well as proposals for modernizing the education system. The prime minister stressed the importance of a systemic approach. “I want that we rethink the entire education system, transform it. As only to reform the system  would mean to improve what we have and which is no longer up-to-date for our children. I know that the investments in education cost; yet, their lack cost us equally much and maybe even more,” Pavel Filip said.

The new vision of the education system provides for enhancing children’s access to the early age education, creation of conditions in crèches, elaboration of new didactic contents and training the needed staff. The participants in the meeting considered also possibilities of providing additional stimuli to young specialists and to enhance the attractiveness of the teaching activity. Other important aspects deals with the infrastructure: providing the supply with water and sanitation systems of education institutions and the setting of sports grounds in communities.

At the same time, several months ago, at a demand by PM Pavel Filip, a working group was set up which works on a new concept of modernization of the education system.

The prime minister stressed that the improvement of Moldova’s education system must be made comprehensively at all levels. He specified that an integrated concept could be worked out after analyzing proposals on modernization of the higher education, the vocational education and the continuous training of adults. In the context, the ministry in charge said that these visions had been already prepared and would be presented on the next period.
