Decision on creation of information system of waste management published in Official Journal of Moldova

Chisinau, 20 July /MOLDPRES/ - The concept of the Automated Information System, Waste Management, was published in the Official Journal of Moldova (Monitorul Oficial) today. The document’s goal is a more efficient management of waste.   

The act provides for the accumulation of information on waste in an electronic register, which will ensure the circuit of waste produced and collected, including of data on the export, import, re-use and elimination of waste. The information for filling in the register will be provided by authorized economic agents in the waste management sector.

The document’s authors are set to digitalize the information and improve the work of the sector’s operators.

The database on the management of waste could be accessed by public authorities, entrepreneurs and private people. Thus, the exchange of information between the competent public authorities, as well as with the European Environment Agency will be eased. Also, a continuous and strict monitoring of risks will be ensured.

The creation of the information source will facilitate the implementation of the European Waste List, including the dangerous waste. This will allow collecting and processing data on the record of waste, according to codes set in EU.
