Chisinau, 1 September /MOLDPRES/- About 330 artists from Moldova and Romania presented their works during the 28th issue of the Contemporary Art Exhibition "Salons of Moldova", which was staged yesterday at the Constantin Brâncuşi centre in Chisinau. The event is dedicated to the Our Romanian Language holiday and the Centenary of the Union.

The exhibition includes works of painting, graphics, sculpture and applied decorative art, signed by 127 authors from Moldova and 200 from Romania.

The head of the Artists Union of Moldova, Dumitru Bolboceanu, said that this is the best edition of the above-mentioned exhibition. "The fine artists brought here the most successful works they represent. The exhibition is stylistically diverse," he said.

For his part, art critic Tudor Stavila said that the exhibition has a certain format. "From one edition to the next, the professional level grows and fine artists participate from almost all regions of Romania: well-known names and young people who look at the reality of art from another perspective,” he said.

The jury, headed by the deputy head of the Fine Artists’ Union of Romania, Gheorghe Dican, awarded ten prizes.

The event was organized by the Fine Artists’ Union of Moldova in partnership with the Ministry of Education, Culture and Research of Moldova, the Iu.Antonescu museum complex and G.Apostu culture and art centre from Bacau, county council of Bacau, Bacau city hall, National Art Museum of Moldova, Chisinau city hall and Union of Fine Artists of Romania.

The exhibition will be open until 16 September.
