Moldovan PM says governance has every determination to make Moldova's western way become irreversible

Chisinau, 8 November /MOLDPRES/ - Prime Minister Pavel Filip today met new Ambassador of the United States to Moldova Dereck J. Hogan. The PM congratulated the diplomat on his appointment as ambassador to Moldova, as well as on the good knowledge of the Romanian language, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.  

The prime minister expressed openness for further strengthening the active dialogue between Moldova and the USA. “We assign a special attention to our relations with the USA, which is an important partner of Moldova. We want to have an open and transparent collaboration in continuation,” Pavel Filip said.   

Among the most important sectors of cooperation between the two countries, the PM highlighted security and defence, justice reform, fighting corruption and consolidating the rule of law state. “We have every determination to continue the processes underway. There is every determination and political will for the western way of Moldova to become irreversible,” Pavel Filip stressed.  

Ambassador Dereck J. Hogan said that the United States remained a reliable partner and a long-term friend of Moldova. The diplomat encouraged the authorities’ efforts to edify a stronger and more independent country, which is equivalent to a more democratic and more prosperous country.   

The officials also exchanged opinions on the settlement of the Transnistrian conflict and the forthcoming parliamentary polls. Pavel Filip said that the governance would do its utmost for the parliamentary elections to be held freely, democratically and transparently.
