Moldovan diplomacy head meets president of OSCE Parliamentary Assembly

Chisinau, 7 December /MOLDPRES/ - Moldova’s cooperation within the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly, promoting measures to strengthen the confidence in the process of Transnistrian conflict settlement, integration of national minorities, justice reform and consolidation of the rule of law state, parliamentary elections due in 2019 have represented the main subjects of a discussion between Foreign and European Integration Minister Tudor Ulianovschi and President of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly George Tsereteli. The event took place on the sidelines of the meeting of the Ministerial Council of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe, held in Milan.     

According to the Foreign and European Integration Ministry’s public diplomacy, strategic communication and media interaction service, Minister Tudor Ulianovschi appreciated the support of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly for efforts concerning the Transnistrian conflict settlement and withdrawal of the Russian troops and ammunitions from Moldova. The minister invoked, in particular, a political declaration adopted at the last meeting of this parliamentary forum. The Moldovan diplomacy head highlighted that, in this way, the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly contributed to strengthening the peace and security in this part of Europe.    

In the context, the officials emphasized the valuable contribution of the OSCE lawmakers for the promotion of reforms concerning the strengthening of the democratic institutions and supremacy of law, observance of human rights and fundamental freedoms, ensuring the freedom of press, organization and holding of free and fair polls, etc.
