About 450 households from north Moldova settlement connected to running water supply

Chisinau, 15 December /MOLDPRES/ - About 450 households from the Bahrinesti village, northern Floresti district, have been connected to the running water supply. Data to this effect was unveiled at a meeting on summing up and final reception of works on 14 December.  

According to the North Regional Development Agency (ADR Nord), the new aqueduct system has a length of 23.7 km. The investment in the construction and assembling of the aqueduct amounts to 8.19 million lei, allocated from the National Regional Development Fund (FNDR).

At the event, the ADR Nord director, Vitalie Povonschi, stressed that the supply with water and sewerage was an important intervention sector in the North Regional Development Strategy. “The goal to bring drinking water to citizens’ homes has become a priority nationwide. We are happy that the residents of the Bahrinesti village already benefit from drinking running water. Good water means health and health means life,” Povonschi said.   

For his part, the Bahrinesti village mayor, Feodosia Bunescu, noted that “the fact that drinking water has reached people’s homes is an important achievement; therefore, we thank the partners for the support provided within the project.”  

The Bahrinesti village is the first of those 11 settlements beneficiaries of the project, Water for life in the Northern Region: Floresti and Soroca districts, implemented by ADR Nord, in partnership with the Moldova Branch Foundation of the SKAT Foundation. The overall budget of the project is 66.86 million lei.
