Chisinau, 14 January /MOLDPRES/ - A graphic exhibition titled, The Poet and the Gorgeous Bird, dedicated to poet Mihai Eminescu, by fine artist Iurie Brasoveanu, who is settled in Italy, was inaugurated at the Chisinau-based Eminescu International Academic Centre.

The exhibition comprises 18 works made by the author during years and was inaugurated at a meeting of the Grai Matern (Mother Language) Literary Circle with the title, Asking Eminescu’s Advice through Poetry, Songs and Fine Arts.

”I have been always approaching the subjects dealing with Eminescu at all my exhibitions from Chisinau and the ones from abroad. I illustrated the Letters of Eminescu, the Emperor and Proletarian poem and other works. I have never renounced the works by Eminescu. They accompany me everywhere,” Iurie Brasoveanu has told MOLDPRES.

For her part, the head of the Mother Language Literary Circle, poet Renata Verejanu said that any work by painter Iurie Brasoveanu was a metaphor. “This is a game of symbols, with the switch of a form into another form. The works of Iurie Brasoveanu are coming from the depth of the poetry by Mihai Eminescu,” Renata Verejanu stressed.

Iurie Brasoveanu was born in the Copaceni village, northern Sangerei district, on 17 November 1962. He graduated from the A. Plamadeala Fine Arts College and the Painting and Graphic Faculty of the Chisinau-based Ion Creanga State Pedagogical University. During 20 years, he worked as teacher of painting at the Fine Arts School from Sangerei and at those three general schools from this town. Starting from 2001, he settled in Turin, Italy. Brasoveanu painted two churches in Moldova and two ones in Italy. He also illustrated 17 books signed by authors from Moldova, Romania and Italy, as well as 13 icons.
