About seventy special vehicles involved in snow clearance in Moldova

Chisinau, 15 January /MOLDPRES/ – About 70 special vehicles have carried out snow removal and widening of the road during the night.

The head of the operational service of the State Road Administration (ASD), Sergiu Capatina, specified for the agency that last night, in the southern area of ​​ Moldova, has fallen snow.

"There were involved 124 workers in the works, scattering over 536 tonnes of antiskid material. Currently, road traffic is provided under winter conditions. Also, the patrol, snow – clearing and fighting of the slide continues," said Capatina.

Also, the authorities warned that heavy snow had formed a thick layer of snow on the roofs of buildings, but also in the yards. In this context, the citizens are warned that during the day, when temperatures are fluctuating between minus and plus, snow and ice are slowly melting and falling. That is why, the authorities urged subordinates to clean the roofs of edifices. A particular attention will be paid to kindergartens, schools, and medical institutions.

In upcoming days, the weather warms up slightly. At night, the thermometres will indicate up to – 11ºC in the north, and the day will record up to +04ºC in the south. Isolated, it will snow.
