Promo-Lex observers unveil results of elections' monitoring in Moldova

Chisinau, 25 February /MOLDPRES/ - Observers of the Promo-Lex Association have notified more infringements in the parliamentary elections, such as deficiencies in electoral lists, violation of the secret vote or organized carriage of voters.
The Promo-Lex programmes manager, Pavel Postica, today said that the Association had had observers in 2,094 polling stations out of 2,141 ones. Most incidents, 127, refer to deficiencies in electoral lists. At the same time, 110 cases in terms of ensuring the secret vote, such as the photographing of ballot papers and another 91 cases concerning the organized carriage of voters, had been reported. Observers also recorded 83 cases of unjustified group voting.
Pavel Postica presented also the preliminary results of the parallel counting of votes in the national electoral district. According to the results, the Party of Socialists got 30.83 per cent of the votes, the ACUM bloc – 26.42 per cent, the Democratic Party of Moldova – 24.26 per cent and the Shor Party – 8.48 per cent. “There were no major infringements or sharp changes of result in certain polling stations, which would arouse reasonable suspicions about certain incorrect situations,” Pavel Postica said.
Moldova’s citizens with right to vote elected their MPs on 24 February.
