Meteorologists inform about Yellow Code of strong wind in Moldova

Chisinau, 26 February /MOLDPRES/ - The State Hydrometeorological Service (SHS) announced a Yellow Code of strong wind today.

According to meteorologists, gustings of the north-western wind up to 15-20 metres/second are forecast till 27 February.

In the context, rescuers recommend that people avoid places where there are dry trees and electric wires.

SHS data shows that the air temperatures will not change essentially all over the country. Thus, on 27 and 28 February, the air temperatures will oscillate between -2 and +3 Celsius degrees at night and will increase to +9 degrees during the day. Also, snow and sleet is expected in the central and northern Moldova on 27 February.

In case of Yellow Code, the weather conditions are potentially dangerous; the meteorological phenomena forecast are usual for the territory of Moldova, but temporarily can become dangerous for certain social and economic activities.
