Chisinau, 7 May /MOLDPRES/- The results of the inter-ministerial dialogue on the future of the Eastern Partnership (EaP), the whole spectrum of issues on the bilateral and multilateral agenda of the Moldovan-Slovak relations, as well as the latest developments in the Transnistrian settlement process were discussed in Bratislava at a meeting between Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration Tudor Ulianovschi and OSCE Chairman-in-Office, Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration of Slovakia Miroslav Lajčák, the MAEIE’s press service has reported.

Ulianovschi appreciated the initiative of the Slovak Presidency in the Visegrad Group to organize talks on the future of EaP in that format. "This meeting is a beginning of talks, which will certainly continue at high-level meetings next week in Brussels, with the Moldovan delegation led by Prime Minister Pavel Filip".

"I am sure that the advancement of the political dialogue and sectoral cooperation within the EaP will contribute to the development of relations between Moldova and the European Union in the future and will ensure the sustainability of the reform processes", he said.

The two officials also exchanged views on the current status of the Transnistrian settlement and the actions meant to boost the negotiation process, and the issue of OSCE cooperation was also addressed.

Lajčak reiterated Slovakia's willingness to act as a country holding the OSCE Chairmanship to contribute to the Transnistrian settlement process, based on the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Republic of Moldova, within internationally recognized borders, with a special status for the Transnistrian region.

Ulianovschi participated in the meeting of the foreign ministers of the Visegrád Group and Eastern Partnership member states held in Bratislava on 6 May.
