Constitutional court of Moldova declares unconstitutional decrees of president on appointment of prime minister, government

Chisinau, 08 June /MOLDPRES/ – The Constitutional Court (CC) of Moldova has declared unconstitutional the decrees of the head of state regarding the appointment of the candidate for position of Prime Minister (PM) and on appointment of the Government of Moldova (GM).

The magistrates of CC have examined on Saturday, 08 June, notification № 112a/2019 on constitutionality control of the Decree of the President of Moldova on appointment of the candidate for position of PM of Moldova and the Decree of the President of Moldova on appointment of the Government of Moldova and have decided that on the basis of Articles 135 (1) let. a) and 140 of the Constitution, 26 of the Law on CC, 6, 61, 62 let. a) and 68 of the Code of CC to declare them unconstitutional.

This current decision is final, can not be subject to any appeal and enters into force on the date of its adoption.
