Chisinau, 10 August /MOLDPRES/ – The high temperatures will also caracterise upcoming week, because the State Hydrometeorological Service (SHS) has extended the Yellow Code (CG) of hot weather condition until 14 August.

The heat does not give up, and the meteorologists forecast for the next days the hottest thermal values of this summer. Thus, according to the SHS's information and media communication service, on 11 – 14 August, in extended areas, the maximum air temperature will reach values of up to 33ºC – 36ºC.

According to meteorologists, the hot temperatures might reduce in intensity only at the weekend, on 16 August, when mercury in thermometres will drop below 30ºC.

Also, according to SHS, the CG of hydrological drought is in force until 15 August. The hydrologists report drought in the rivers and lakes of Moldova due to the lack of precipitation and high temperatures. "We ask the economic agents and population to consume rationally the water resources", it is stated in an institution statement.

In the context of the burning and drought established in Moldova, the General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations (IGSU) has warned the population about respecting the fire regulations. The firefighters have asked citizens not to light dry vegetation and household debris, avoid ignition of wrinkles and stems, and in case of fires, even insignificant ones, to call 112. Also, if it is observed out of the ordinary situations in forests or adjacent territories, the specialists of the Moldsilva agency ask to be contacted on hotline: 022 – 211 – 311.

“The heat becomes especially distressing for those who have health problems. It can aggravate some problems of heart, blood circulation, and nervous system. The hemorrhages and blood pressure increases may be favoured on hot days, unless there are taken protective measures. Sometimes, on the contrary, high blood pressure can be greatly decreased, so it should be measured, especially at hypertensive patients, and it should be prescribed treatment to the found values. The persons with excess weight may also have problems. Another category of diseases that can be aggravated are autoimmune, inflammatory ones, which can affect the skin and joints, and which can be accompanied by photosensitivity.

In these and other cases it should be known that in addition to the usual medicines prescribed by the doctor, there should not be neglected standard rules on hot weather – sufficient hydration and consumption of the most moisturising food, especially juicy fruits and vegetables, natural teas and juice, avoiding fatty, heavy and spicy kinds of food, strong drinks and, of course, sun exposure”, specified sources from a clinic of Moldova.
