Moldovan SP meets American congressman

Chisinau, 14 August /MOLDPRES/ – Speaker of Parliament, Zinaida Greceanii, has thanked the United States of America for its constant support to Moldova and stressed the importance of strategic partnership with the USA, in the meeting with Mike Quigley, a member of the U.S. Congress, the parliament’s communication and public relations department has reported.

According to speaker, the support provided throughout Moldova in promoting important projects for people increases the trust among the peoples of Moldova and the USA. And on this occasion, Zinaida Greceanii launched the proposal to start a new large infrastructure project for Moldova, following the example of the Compact programme.

The SP has reiterated the support for Government and stressed that the formations that made up the parliamentary majority will continue to work in the interests of people and leave aside the issues that divide, for the inhabitants of Moldova need actions and expected on behalf of state. Externally, it will continue to be promoted a balanced foreign policy, and internally there are common objectives of the parliamentary majority.

At his part, the head of the friendship group with the USA, the deputy speaker of Parliament, Mihail Popsoi, has mentioned that all the forces that constituted the parliamentary majority are aware of the importance of reforms, need to build independent institutions and fight corruption.

The deputy SP, Alexandru Slusari, spoke about the need for expertise to strengthen the judicial system and in the fight against corruption.
