Chisinau, 17 August /MOLDPRES/- Five small entrepreneurs from the north of the country will receive financial support from the Czech Development Agency. The support comes through the project New impetus for business development in the Northern Development Region of the Republic of Moldova, implemented by the Northern Regional Development Agency (ADR Nord) in partnership with People in Need Moldova and the Public Association Pro Regional Cooperation.

In June-August, residents of Edineț Industrial Park have received training on Lean Canvas modeling, which will allow them to develop their business. At the end of the training, a contest of project ideas was organized for the 19 entrepreneurs participating in training. Five winners were selected and awarded this week in Edinet. The winners of the competition have got grants of up to three thousand euros.

During the award ceremony of the grant certificates, the partners of the project appreciated the contribution of the small entrepreneurs from the region to the socio-economic development and the promotion of the innovative spirit in the business activities and wished success in developing their own businesses.

Country Director People in Need Moldova Silvia Bicenco congratulated the winners and encouraged the other entrepreneurs to later participate in other training programs and small grant contests, which will be announced. However, Silvia Bicenco said that the winners in the contest must contribute an additional 30% of the grant.

Lean Canvas modeling trainings have guided young entrepreneurs to learn how a successful business plan should look and how to effectively use marketing and promotion strategies for their own businesses. At the same time, the entrepreneurs were trained how to develop and launch a project and they practiced the basic principles of Lean Canvas, which refers to customers, competition, income and expenses.

The project funded by the Czech Development Agency is implemented by ADR Nord in partnership with People in Need Moldova and Pro Regional Cooperation association in 2017-2019. Due to this partnership, in the Business Incubators in Soroca and Sangerei and Alecu Russo State University in Balti, better conditions will be created for supporting start-ups and applying innovations by small and medium enterprises in the Northern Development Region.
