Chisinau, 7 September /MOLDPRES/ - Drivers involved in a traffic accident as of 8 September will be able to use the procedure of amicable ascertaining of car accident in the relations with insurances companies, without being necessary to document the accident at the Police, under a decision by the National Commission for Financial Market (CNPF).

Drivers can get the form of amicable ascertaining of car accident from insurances companies (insurances intermediaries), from which they bought the Auto Civil Liability (RCA) policy. The procedure of amicable ascertaining of traffic accident can be enforced for all car accidents occurred in Moldova, in which only two vehicles are involved and which resulted only in insignificant material damages worth 10,000 lei at the most. The form, Amicable accident ascertaining, is to be submitted to the insurer on a period of two working days after the date when the accident occurred and drivers will not be obliged to come to police to document the accident.

CNPF also said that the form was to be filled in only if both drivers involved in the car accident had RCA insurance and they by common consent establish the person guilty of the accident, which is actually fixed in the form.

Data of the RCA state automated information system shows that, in 2018, as many as 8,611 files of damages (related to the accidents occurred in 2018) were managed and settled. The quantum of compensation of damages amounted to less than 10,000 lei in 5,163 (60 per cent) out of all files managed by insurers.
